AZHIN has:
- formed a cooperative governing group, composed of representatives from member institutions formally committed to maintaining and expanding the services and products available through AZHIN;
- developed access procedures making the databases available via the Internet;
- supported itself financially through cost sharing and grant funds;
- begun the process of informing potential and actual users of the system about its utility and opportunities, and training participants to use the Internet, AZHIN services and databases;
